A Trip to Science Centre

On Thursday, our Chinese teacher brought us to the Science Centre. We went to an exhibition called “China 7000 Years of Innovation”. Inside the exhibit, there were different sections like, astronomy, navigation, gun power, paper making, printing, mechanics, bronze casting, weaving, ceramics, architecture and TCM. At the paper making part, a man demonstrated how to make paper. First, he mixed the pulp. Then, he used a net to take a thin layer of pulp and put it on the table. He repeated this process and stacked the thin layer of pulp together. Then he separated the pulp and let it dry. Then, the paper is finished. At about four-thirty, we left the Science Centre. All of us wished that we could stay a little longer.

Amazing Maths Race

On 11th April 2007, Charmaine, Jing En, Yan Shen and I participated in the 'Amazing Maths Race'. We had lots of fun and enjoyed ourselves very much. During the competition, we had to go to the different stations. The station master there would give us a worksheet. After we completed the worksheet, we would return it to the station master and she would mark it. When the siren rings, we must go back to the hall. Teams that arrive late will be disqualified. Following the competition was the prize-giving. All of us thought that we would not get anything but instead, we got gold! We were very happy. I hope that we can participate again next year!

My NAPHA Test

On 9th April 2007, I had my NAPHA Test. It was very fun. At 1.30pm, we gathered in the canteen. Class by class, we went up to the hall to have our NAPHA Test. First, I did the ‘Sit and Reach’. I reached 29 cm, which is a C. Then I did the ‘SBJ (standing broad jump)’. I jumped 160 cm, which is an A. I was very happy because normally, I jumped only about 145 to 155 cm. Next, I did the ‘Shuttle Run’. We were supposed to run, pick up the shuttlecock, run back, put down the shuttlecock, run, pick up another shuttlecock and run back again. I finished it in 11.8 seconds. I got B. After that, I decided to do the ‘Inclined Pull Up’. I did 17 in 30 seconds, which is an A. Then, I went to do the ‘Sit Ups’. The first time, I did 17 in one minute, which is a D. To get gold for NAPHA Test, your worst grade can only be C. Since I want to get gold, I cannot get D. So, I tried again a while later. This time, I did 27 in one minute. I was very happy as it was an A.

On Thursday, we will have our 1.6 km run. I must finish running within 11.4 minutes to obtain at least a C to get gold. I am not sure if I can do it, but I hope I can. I really want to get gold.

Table Tennis Competition

On 22 March 2007, I had table tennis competition. The first school that we compete with is Qiaonan Primary School. We won them 5-0. Next, we played with Poi Ching School. We won them 5-0 too. I was very happy. On 28 March, we played with St. Hilda’s Primary School. We won them 5-0. Then, it is the semi finals. We played with PLMGS (Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School). We won 3-0. On 2 April, it is the finals. We will compete with Red Swastika School. I am very excited and hope that we can win!

Special Momments

Today, I am going to share with you about my special momments.

I woke up at 5.30AM on one of the days of the June school holidays in 2004. I was going to Malaysia! I was very excited. I quickly brushed my teeth and changed my clothes. We brought some bread to eat in the car. We went to fetch my grandmother as she was also going to Malaysia. Then, we went to Holland Village to take the bus there. At noon time we ate our lunch in Malaysia before continuing our journey. At 2 o' clock we arrived at Serebang. We put down our things and played some games. We stayed there for three days. On the last day, we flied kites. I enjoyed myself very much.

Things that I like to do

Today, I am going to share with you about what I like. I like to do many things. I like to read books, play table tennis, play board games, play card games, cycle, run and play with my baby brother. I read books like 'The Nancy Drew Notebooks' and 'Arthur'. I like to play board games like 'Snake and Ladder' and 'Monopoly'. I play card games like 'Uno' and 'Stress'. My brother is sixteen months old. He is very cute. He is learing to talk. He can walk. Many people say that he walks like a penguin. Sometimes he do funny things. I love my baby brother very much.

My Best Friend

Do you know who my best friend is? She is Kristel. She is a student leader of the school and is also in the table tennis team like me. She can run quite fast. She is kind, caring and helpful. She will help anybody if they have problems in their schoolwork. She smiles at everybody and always remembers to bow to teachers politely. She has good manners and says, “thank you” or “sorry” frequently. During recess, I would usually go to the school library with her. We would read books there. She reads books like, “Lord of the Rings”, “Harry Porter”, and many more. She will always be my best friend.
